Despite the huge consumer and industrial demand for water, there is a significant financing gap in Africa. The estimated water investment gap to bridge is 45-55$ billion per year until 2025.

The Kigali PPP project, supplying more than 20% of Kigali city water needs with a capacity of 40,000 m3/day, has been recognized for its groundbreaking work and its astounding impact on Rwandan society.

This accolade underscores AWID’s commitment to the sustainable development and financing of climate-smart water infrastructure in Africa.
